Frequently asked questions
What is a7.ee?
a7.ee turns a URL into a short link and a QR code. The code gets printed once — on a poster, a package, a menu — but the destination isn’t fixed: you can change where it points at any time from your dashboard, and every code you’ve already printed keeps working.
What happens if I hit my plan’s limits?
Existing links always keep resolving — a code already printed and handed to a customer never breaks because of a quota. What stops is new activity: you can’t create new links past your plan’s limit, and clicks past your monthly allowance aren’t recorded. Nothing about a link someone has already scanned is ever affected.

What’s a custom domain, and why is my domain “verified” but not routing yet?
A custom domain (e.g. qr.yourbrand.com) lets your codes resolve on your own domain instead of a7.ee — the paid-tier feature agencies use so a client never sees an unfamiliar shortener. Verifying that you own the domain and getting it to actually route traffic are two separate steps: verification is a quick DNS record check, while routing depends on DNS propagation and can take longer. Seeing “verified” without “routing configured” yet is expected while that propagates.
How is visitor data handled?
We never store a visitor’s raw IP address — not even temporarily. Each click is recorded against a one-way hash that changes every day and can’t be turned back into an IP or used to track someone across days. Click records are deleted after 400 days, and browser user-agent details are scrubbed after 30. Full details, legal bases and your rights are in the Privacy Policy.
Account security
You can sign in with a password or with Google, and turn on authenticator-app (TOTP) two-factor authentication with backup recovery codes for when you lose access to your device. Manage all of this from your dashboard’s account settings.
